OK,It's that time of year when we turn our clocks ahead for spring. Usually I do this before I go to bed but this year I will be driving throughout the night and was wondering how to log it.

For example lets say I start driving at 23:00 and finish at 04:00. Please let me know what should be written in the log. Thanks.

I would say log your "trip" as if there was no time change. Then after you finish, change the clocks. I like Az. where I live now, no time change, MST year around.

Since each calendar day has its own log and the time standard is posted on the log page use that as a guide. Also remember that the time change occurs at 2:00 AM local time in each time zone.

I drive through every darn 1 of them. A solution I use is to log it on the time it will be after the change and note that on the log as either standard or daylight. I start my week on Saturday PM usually, and I have to drive the next 5 or 6 days. Otherwise 1 day logged is 23 hours (spring) and the other is 25 (fall).

Assuming your still using a paper log......

You will run your normal time that you are driving. An asterisk ( * ) on the page noting daylight savings time. Re mark the hours above the log hours when the change happened. Just remember to still run your correct hours.

Or better yet, drive from California (PST) into Mountain time, end your day and you wont loose any of it?:biggrin_25517: Retorical (I know we cant do that). LOL
