There goes your 10+ year safety bonus… I just hope and pray they don’t can you for it. That would be such a terrible way to leave… ;-)

Bout rage quit today due to lack of communication and lack of proper load information…..waited all day to see if I can drop this load on the yard due to too much time on it plus late night appt. too. Load said pick up 1600 anyway in port wentworth. Bounce down to volvo from the pilot across the line to drop my reefer and get a dry van. All the empties against the fence had glad hand locks on them. I almost decided to be a jerk and pull out my cordless grinder with the metal cutting blade and was going to attempt to cut one the glad hand locks off but thankfully there was an empty in the dock. Get to the shipper area and of course the rd doesn’t exist or not properly marked or just built over top of so I drive in circles trying to find the truck entrance after deducing the name of the place after seeing some of our trailers along the fence of the warehouse and of course the place is dark and shut down so I call dispatch and they just tell me to park on the Pooler yard and try in the morning. Hopefully I find the darn proper truck entrance after googling stuff.

A grinder in not necessary to remove a glad hand lock. A flat head screw driver will the trick.

As we are lounging on the port side of the ship headed back to Venice, I had to call into the mothership back in Richmond to inform them that I will be extending my vacation another week. We got an email from the company installing all our hurricane accordion shutters on the house that they are ready. So, starting next Wednesday, our house will be a construction zone that I need to be home for. I could always use another paid week off. I love trucking.

Parked at @Redtwin 's favorite truck stop, the Pilot north of the freeway on the south side of Indianapolis.

It's been a few years since I had any reason at all to park in Indianapolis, and even longer since I parked at this spot in particular. It is, if anything, even sketchier than it was the last time I was here.

Been fighting an ongoing battle with my coolant system. Got a brand new radiator put in a month ago. Got a brand new coolant reservoir put in 10 days ago. And I'm still getting low coolant warnings and automatic engine shutdowns, even with a completely full coolant reservoir. Sometimes I can't go more than a couple of miles in between auto-shutdowns. Gonna hit the Knight-Swift yard tomorrow to see if there's anything they can do about it.

Redtwin, Finfn1372 and Lonesome Thank this.
