Non life-threatening injuries, but the Senator's wife suffered a broken neck and broken back.
Senator Reid apparently spent time at the hospital, then returned to the capitol to meet with Rahm the crew to discuss getting their health care legislation passed (per a report on MSNBC).
Nice to know he's got his priorities in order.
I hope the ladies are OK. -

The wife and adult daughter of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have been involved in a serious car accident in Washington, D.C., his office confirmed Thursday evening.
Landra Reid, the senator's wife, and Lana, his daughter, were both injured when a semi-truck rear-ended their car. Both are being treated at a local hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
According to Jon Summers, a Reid spokesman, Landra Reid suffered a broken neck, a broken back, and a broken nose. Lana Reid sustained a neck injury and facial lacerations.
"Both Mrs. Reid and Lana are conscious, can feel their extremities," said Summers. "Senator Reid has been to the hospital and appreciates the support he and his family are receiving from Nevadans and his colleagues in the Senate -
They said the driver was from Ohio and didn't sustain any injuries. He hit 4 vehicles in total and was cited with reckless driving. Still no word on who he was driving for.

On a serious note, my deepest sympathies to the honorable Senator and his family.
