CRETE - A Year in Review

Maybe things have changed since I left Crete, but one time I emptied out and there were no Cretes left, I asked if I could hook to an empty Shaffer just to get rolling. Dispatch wouldnt allow it, but the customer said it was ok. I dont remember who it was.

 

I know exactly where you are at. Post Cereals in Jonesboro Ar. I almost missed out on a run to California because of those people.

 

Thanks for the heads up. If I ever go there I will not send an empty call till I hook to an empty trl.. That way I can send in for a detention P.O..

Well, I just got backed into. Sitting here in the bunk I felt the truck rock and looked up to see a Werner trailer sitting on my hood. Driver has been solo for one week. My truck is still drivable but looks like crap. Didn't need this to happen right now but oh well.

 

Werner driver must have thought he was pulling doubles with your rig

 

I do appreciate all the info you guys post about shippers and the seemingly constant issues about hours and finding MT trailers.

I've been given approval to start with Crete on the 22nd. Can't begin to tell you all how excited I am about this.

 

I can relate. I was just getting ready to go to sleep after a long day when and O-O slammed into my mirror on the driver side. When I looked out, he was getting ready for a repeat performance. I had to run out into the snow in my bare feet to stop the fool. One look told me that he didn't have all his screws. sigh.

 

What really sucks is that it screwed up my On Guard system. I cant drive more than 30-40 miles before I get the red screen and have to pull over to reset it. I talked to the body shop and told the extent of the damages and they seem to think they can fix it in 1 to 2 days so I wont have to swap trucks.

That's the problem with companies like Crete or even trucking in general. If those scumbags had to pay the driver, you can bet they would make that customer unload some trailers. They could care less about drivers. #### thieves.
