Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Sounds to me like you really need to get hold of an attorney, as others have said. We can give you a bit of "moral support," but you need legal information, and NOT from a "truck stop lawyer." Get hold of a labor attorney, right away.
Whatever happens with the job, we are all on your side with the cancer. Best of luck to you.bullhaulerswife and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
What he said x's 10!

do it now I screwed up on a deal just like this and you only have so much time to file. the attorney chewed me up for not hurrying to him as I could have had a bucket of money and they would have had a truck full of trouble from the feds.its not peanuts like workers comp either. this is bad news for them.

I have done all of the things that i needed to do to get the family med leave act and when i was done with the person who does all that he said that i was on the family med leave act and he filed my short term disability as well after he got the final word from the doctor that i did have cancer now get this i got the letter that i was fired 2 days after the short term disability started and that lasted 3 weeks and thy are saying that thy have nothing to do with the short term disability but yet thy are the one who filed it for me.

Pick up the phone and start calling lawyers then.
-
I agree call a lawyer don't let them get away with it. Good luck with your cancer I will keep you in my prayers.

You seriously need to get an attorney, and I'm sure that ANY attorney will LOVE to have this case. You cannot be fired, for any reason, under the FMLA.
Please call an attorney, ASAP and keep us posted on how things are going.

Just curious, what type cancer? I have had skin cancer taken off twice..once on the face and once from neck. It was not a fatal variety. Good luck.

Family medical leave is not effective until the employee reaches 6 months of continuous employment.Last edited: Mar 14, 2010
