anyone take allergy shots

    I've wanted to become a trucker for years but I take allergy shots. I do one a month until I have to start on a new bottle then I need to get one once a week for about 4 weeks until I get back up to my max dose, then it's back to once a month till I run out again.

    Anyone do anything similar to this and how do you work around it?

    Hi Griz,
    it all depends what medication is in your allergy shots.
    Some of them cause drowsiness and it is absolutely illegal to drive after taking them. Google chlorphenamine (Piriton) to find out the details.
    But if its a steroid based shot like hydrocortisone its usually Ok.

    I'm not worried what's in the shot it's not that kind of shot. I'm wondering how do I get it, while on the road.

    Ask your doctor if you can administer it yourself? Otherwise as a kid I took them and then out grew the need for them. Also why are you taking them (if you dont mind me asking). Most of the items can be dealt with by pill and inhalers these days.
