CDL student with a 25 over ticket, is my future in trucking finished?

Maybe a job involving driving might be bad choice, if you will drive 25 over

 

You are not getting hired.

 

50 in a 25 zone.
55 in a 30 zone.
65 in a 40 zone.
75 in a 50 zone.

Yup, I am good at the math - like everyone else with even half a brain.
Just like recognizing that a total disregard for any kind of safety does not bode well for a trucking career.

 

Wholly mackerel. That's a big one. I can't add anything more to what was already said. If you're able to get this ticket lowered and get in a truck, be careful. Follow those signs because the punishment levied in a 4 wheeler has nothing on getting caught speeding in a semi.

 

Talk to the attorney hopefully mercy comes your way. I've been there before. Learn from it be disciplined so you don't dig holes for yourself. It will make it hard for you to move forward in your career. All the best to you

 

Since you don't hold a cdl yet your chances of a dismissal with a fine, probation and possibly traffic school are very good. That citation can completely disappear with a non cdl license.
Stop school for now. Hire lawyer. Then resume cdl training once it's gone.

You’ll definitely want to have your lawyer negotiate a plea deal..lower it to less than 15 for sure and fines..the state is just going to want $$ out of the deal no matter what..

 

Try to get it dropped to under 15 mph over the speed limit.
Anything 15 over is reckless driving by trucking company insurance companies.
