Maybe the locals don't like the smell of pee , the sight of trash and the sound of straight pipes .

All of these municipalities that want a lot everyone of these projects that include truck stops etc. i think what really needs to happen is an absolute boycott of delivering anything in those towns for a few weeks at the very least. We’ll see how much they hate trucks…to Begin with it’s gonna be a QT, which is not gonna have a whole Lotta truck parking maybe 15 spots at most just fuel and go

Or the guy getting off the exit at 11:30pm that just has to let everyone know his jakes work.
If it is such a wealthy community I'm surprised it's even being considered. City councils seem so out of touch with their cities.buddyd157, bzinger and gentleroger Thank this. -
If this was anywhere near an industrial area, convenient to an interstate, or on a major truck thru route - I would agree with you.
However, this location has no need of ANY type of fuel station, truck or otherwise.
This is the lot. I have no idea how far into the trees the proposed lot goes, but even if it's the entire wooded lot it wouldn't be much of a truck stop. At best it would be something like the Thortons 5 miles away.
The lot on the south side is pay to park, anything over 15 minutes.
This is an attempt to profit off of trucks without providing for their needs.
Now if either of these lots wanted to become a truck stop and residents tried to block it - forget them, build baby build.
Bud A. Thanks this. -
It’s convenient to an interstate-the I-55 interchange is about 5 minutes north of the location. Route 83 itself is a major north-south highway artery.drvrtech77 Thanks this.

Well, even the city has to follow state and federal laws. Would not surprise me there are laws about it must be debated or whatever before the counsel so it's on public record.drvrtech77 and TheLoadOut Thank this.
