oh man! that sucks! how many miles was it?

My FM and Planners seem pretty good... they kept me from getting stuck at my 99 in Reno! Only thing that goes out of reno that i know of is dog food... but they are having me DH back to stockton to pick up a meat load to Layton, UT.

Just shy of 240. If I had not called I could have spent numerous hours in downtown St Louis...I grew up near here and we only went downtown to watch the cardinals or visit the arch. Although there is Busch Gardens which was a free wildlife park that you got 2 free Auggie samples.

I was talking to a L/O friend this morning and he was telling me about a guy who has been leasing for a month and is only getting 1500 miles a week, that wouldn't even be a break even point when his Truck payment kicks in :biggrin_25512:

I have talked with a coulple L/O that contended they were able to go solo due to the fuel situation. Monetarially? I think the only way to make it would be team or trainer, but still not through a company lease. I wish Mario would leave me alone. I really don't want to team or train either.

One thing I can say about Central's recruiters is they are fast with the email replies, lol. I know that leaves it wide open for everyone, haha. Anyway, if for some reason you don't make it the one year and have to pay the 3k for the training, do they ask for it all at termination or can you just continue making payments to them?

Another thing I noticed is that you only have to have six months experience to become a trainer?:biggrin_2554: That to me would indicate why they end up with people out there that don't know what to do as was indicated by a couple of recent posts. I was leaning toward another route and company until today when I found out my application had been turned down. So unless a local job opportunity comes through that I interviewed for on Friday, it looks to me as Central may be the route I go. Got to do what you have to do. Better than bankruptcy. But I will not be leasing, will stay as a company driver.

If that is what happens, welcome to the fray and fun. Personally, I don't feel that what has happened has been unexpected or underhanded. I like my DM. Russ on the weekends is great! There have been a few that will remain nameless that have been to politely say "underwhelming".

Yea. HT!!!! Nice to get out of the truck for awhile.

If my company was to ever get something a little bigger than the 600's and 660's, I'd give serious consideration to training. Wouldn't be for the extra money either but because I think I could put safer drivers on the road.

Took trk to the KW place today and man was that place packed. Had to wait for a guy to pick up his oversize load and that freed up 2 parking spaces for tlrs. Unfortunetly, the 1 tlr I parked next to was a bull wagon. Thank goodness it was all dry. Smelled bad enough at that and who knows how much worse it could have been if it was all fresh. :)
