    Does anyone know anything about UMG Logistics in Atlanta, or Bulldog Leasing (no address given) ?

    They're calling for o/o's for dry vans, OTR, 1.15/mi, no touch, pay on delivery. Your wagon or lease theirs.

    Too many years in this business tells me something stinks.

    One thing that stinks is $1.15 mi if you are paying your own tag, 2290, IFTA, fuel tax, cargo ins, workmans comp, fuel at close to 3 bucks a gallon, matching payroll deductions that the employer always has to pay, but now you do since you work for yourself. Then there's health insurance, no more paid vacation or paid holidays. When you take off, not only do you lose pay, but now it cost you for every day missed. You are now responsible for most all DOT tickets, and the list can go on.

    Many will say I am wrong, or just negative. I've ran into this before. I had a terminal manager ask me why I would not run certain runs. I told him that it paid less per mile than it cost to run my truck. I had my cost down to the hundreth of a cent. He said another driver was running this load all the time, and said he was making money. My response was he had money every week, but wait until tag renewal time and he needed repairs and tires.

    Sure enough, one day I was in the office and this driver called. His tags were due, and he had a bad head gasket, and no money. He was parking the truck and cancelling the lease. You have to take everything into account, not just fuel and some mysterious number made up for a maintenance account.

    I guess the question needing answered is what does this company pay as far as extras, and does that number include FSC. Another thing is how many hub miles are ran as compared to paid miles. This can be off by quite a bit.

    You can go broke very quickly at that number. There just isn't money in this business right now, so might just be a wise idea to hold off...

    Stranger;

    Yea, I know all that.I had 3-6 trucks on the road for almost 20 years.

    I haven't contacted them so, I don't know if they pay tags, permits, etc.

    I really just wanted to know something about the companies.
