Port work sucks having to deal with PITA unions at the ports.

what are some good LTL/linehaul companies?
@ChinatownChinatown Thanks this. -
During and before covid vs. Now.. Apples and oranges..
I have 6 years.. No job hopping.. All endorsements and no auto restriction, my choices:
- Mega OTR, and ONLY mega OTR, no regional or dedicated... saturated home every night divisions
- Stay in tanker(I'm delivering fuel; you can company hop easy if you're already doing it). It's probably a PITA if you're not already doing it
- Manual/stick fleets that are basically held together with bungy coords; mostly Amazon but some large fleets too(I won't mention names but they are van manual-only fleets)
- Day cab van stuff >>>IF<<< I spend about two months carpet bombing applications and be available for interviews that take at least 3 days to get decisions on..

With your experience big LTL companies or big tanker companies. Get a hazmat opens doors. If you don’t mind physical unloading food service. All make 100k+

Nobody else asked, so I will. Do either of you get paid overtime? If you do, and he doesn't and you get the overtime, you could actually end up making more than him in a year with him making that $3 more per hour than you do.

most company tanker caps out around 80k with top level experience, but it's 401k home nights and weekends full family health. The top guy at Eagle around NC does like 82k with overtime. Cryo and some other stuff does more I think, but none of it over 100k cause they are home every night jobs

My buddy hauls gas up north in Cali. Grosses well over 100k. But no doubt he works 6 days to do it. I’m sure if he worked 5 days it’ll be right at 90-100k. He works for small carriers though. Maybe that’s the difference.
