Eaton Ultrashift intermittently Jumping when put in D or R also sometime when I accelerate. and by intermittently, I mean sometimes it goes 800 - 1500 miles without doing it then Idk if it's just a coincidence Ill hit a small pothole or park on an incline and as soon as it goes into drive my cab will shake violently and it feels like the truck is trying to take off at high speeds.
ive noticed when this happens everything is faster when i accelerate it'll pull a 35k load like I'm empty when it usually takes half an rpm to start moving..
I just had clutch replaced, my inertia brake was broken and also replaced the actuator, and im still getting this issue.
if anyone has any idea please let me know because every shop Ive called is giving me a different answer so im not sure who to go with. my personal mechanic said to replace all the transmission sensors, another shop said its the computer.

Eaton IntelliConnect is included with every Eaton and Eaton Cummins automated transmission. Our vehicle system experts create comprehensive fault code action plans beyond just reading transmission fault codes. Using a holistic systems approach, we look at data from other vehicle components to determine potential root causes and solutions.
There is a fee involved. You should contact Eaton as an option.Last edited: Oct 23, 2023

The shops that looked at it were: JX truck center in Illinois Ruck truck in Texas, Jacksonville and a Kenworth in Jacksonville FL. the one in Illinois replaced my Actuator, Texas Reprogramed and Jacksonville Rush Replaced Clutch because my inertia brake was broken, Kenworth had Reprogrammed saying sometimes the computer didint take the first reprograming. So I figured I'd come here and try my luck, but the connection part does seem like a possibility. where are you located? and what would I be looking at for a DIAG like that? feel free to PM me if you dont want to post it.Last edited: Oct 23, 2023

I drive one with issues also and no one can figure it out. New clutch put in and reprogrammed multiple times took video of dash lit up but never any codes

Ultrashift Plus (possibly other models) have a Snapshot feature that a driver can initiate.
Snapshot is a diagnostic procedure used to capture specific data at the time an event is happening. This data should be collected and reviewed at the direction of Eaton technical support.
For some issues reprogramming alone not enough. Eaton has a procedure to install an earlier software version, disconnect batteries for 5 minutes, reconnect and then program the latest version.Alexp2686 Thanks this. -
I bring the truck to the shop once a month for them to do their thing never been given any direction on the procedure you speak of but at the shop we have a technician that works for Rush and he is the one doing the majority of the work. I drive a smooth bore tanker and we supposedly have a time to help with the liquid movement.
