Looking for perspectives from Carrier Fleet managers, safety directors, etc...
    – What specific alerts do you want drivers to receive in cab (beyond 'bypass weigh station' or HOS alerts)?
    – What specific alerts do you not want them receiving?

    Your refering to ELD Logs?

    Want:
    Messages from dispatch
    Trip assignments or adjustments
GPS Capabilities (truck routes) w/ live route suggestions based on traffic

Cant think of specific alerts I wouldn't want them to get, but any irrelevant to the driver or his duties - fairly broad statement.

What about types of safety alerts? There are so many interpretations of what's useful in that category, but I'd have to imagine too many becomes noisy distraction, instead of effective notification?

Most of our drivers find the safety and fuel efficiency alerts to be unannoying and unwanted. I understand their purpose but they should be able to be toggled and not forced. I am assuming your referring to hard braking, hard turns, acc, coasting, ect?

Yep, exactly what I'm looking into. Things like weather, dangerous traffic slowdowns, etcetera.

I"m seeing a disconnect between what Carriers want, and what drivers want, so I'm trying to better understand in order to make better recommendations.
