DOT requires even experienced drivers to go through training but it's mostly just to teach you their system and how they want things done. It's 2 weeks in classroom and 2 or 3 weeks of driving pays $1300 gross per week. If they consider you a student driver it'll be longer. It would be worth the hassle either way.
I second what Chinatown says when they ask you how well you get along with previous dispatchers you tell them you always strive to work well with everyone and do not bad mouth previous employers. Because they will ask you that question and if you talk a bunch of badmouth nonsense about previous employers and co-workers you won't get the job.
Heartland Express can’t be serious?

-It’s a 4 car rollback not a uhaul thank you. I wear closed toe shoes and a polo every day. Sheesh
-Doug Andrus was actually my first post on the truckers report. I’m almost positive they won’t hire me. Haha
The not dragging a trailer around is what’s killing me getting a job. No one cares that I can drive a manual, use a ELD, go through scales, or that I drive 500+ miles a day five days a week. If I haven’t utilized a trailer and slept in the truck in the last 6 months then I’m unhirable.
I’ll give DOT a try. Thanks for the help.Still undecided, cdavis188, Bumper and 2 others Thank this. -
