Any current drivers in the Texas area? I was wondering about the slip seating on day/night shifts. Do you get to start at a consistent time or is just when the other driver gets back? I know back in the oilfield it really sucked to get there and no truck because you're waiting on the guy to get back.

I'm not shure about TX but out here in CA we have multiple trucks. Shifts starting every hour so there is almost always a spare truck around.

Will AP and Matheson merge? After AL bought AG, prax & lin are merging. So that only leaves the first two stated own there own. AP was the largest before AL and AG got together. But to stay competitive they will have to merge or buy out someone.

    to the driver who wrote
to the driver who wrote this:your statement is too funny…but it’s the truth and at the same time shameful that we as professionals have to tell other supposed professionals how to go about getting a job…telling folks how to not look like they just climbed out of a dumpster and to look like somebody…that’s really embarrassing as a 30 year transport operator…you now see young drivers and older drivers walking up to a shipper or receiver they just look horrible flip flops or crocks and a t-shirt ripped up jeans…it’s just a sad day all these folks out here working and not caring enough about their own appearance as professionals…I could say more but I’ve already said too much…thank you driver for caring enough to throw that out there about how not to go looking while trying to get a job…

Ya know, I'm gonna be 67 next year and retiring from the cryo field.
My company pays for the clothes I wear and my wife dutifully irons my shirts each week. I wear clean pants and work boots every day and try to carry myself like a professional driver should. I pull up after fueling to grab my receipt and coffee.
    I want folks to think..there's a pro.
Don't care what the newer flip flop crowd thinks but will say I've never looked at a slovenly dressed driver and thought " he looks like a professional "
More like, when did this profession go south..lol
