I don’t think all those stories are lunch counter talk.
When I see what some folks go past and totally ignore to get to some of those low bridges I can clearly see why one situation might be viewed differently than the next even by the same officer.

I had to make the call once,a small town in New York. The truck route didn't go all the way through the town.I called the local police, non emergency number and they told me the 2 or 3 other streets to take to get to the truck route on the other side of town.Might have been in Hudson New York.I had a load to pick up at Flanders, air filters. If you ever head that way come in from the west,no problems.PaulMinternational and Nahbrown Thank this.

the laminated Randy/mac is nice and all, but buying the waay cheaper paper one every year, keeps you up to date on changes.
I would buy them later in the year when on sale. paper one is like 3X cheaper4wayflashers and Nahbrown Thank this. -
Why not take this route? Just stay on us11 and not 11 business.

Hindsight being 20/20 I absolutely wish I had taken that route. Trucker Path suggested the other route and I took it watching out for any signs Prohibiting trucks or showing low bridges. There was never a road sign for either, and then I found myself facing what I knew was a low bridge.
we will learn from thisLast edited: Oct 28, 2023
4wayflashers, Long FLD and Opus Thank this. -
usually better to stay on numbered roads, if you can.
-
Never trust any GPS or counting on road signs.
I suggest always use google satellite and street view of any route you haven't been on before. If you see a bridge you aren't sure of just plan another route prior to traveling.
Been driving 10+ years and have stayed safe this way. -
A side question here.
Does Trucker path have a place to input stuff like vehicle height/width? Check box for Hazmat?
Important things to help it pick the best route.Magoo1968 Thanks this. -
Yes, all that truck data is entered in to the app. It still recommended the route.Blu_Ogre Thanks this. -
I want to say it’s nice to see someone accepting that they made a mistake and learning from it instead of blaming the gps or lack of signage or any other reason. Your attitude and actions are pretty rare in this industry these days.Siinman, Sons Hero, kemosabi49 and 6 others Thank this.
