The recruiter called me this morning and was touching base on the start of orenitation on monday and what items to bring. He was wanting to know if i needed a bus ticket(Greyhound), I wont do that again. I have family in Nashville so i have that taken care of. By the way it sounds, there is a large turn out for monday. I will keep posting.

i have worked for btc for close to 2 years now. overall, i'm pretty happy with them. good and bad--
good-
they are pretty laid back about everything. I can fuel whenever/wherever i want (as long as its at a Pilot,
).
They don't tell me route to take. never been hassled about out of route miles.
I make .38 cent mile--we basically never sit. 25 for tarping.
Home every wknd unless something weird happens like a breakdown or something
BAD
Very basic freightliner trucks w/mbe engine. trucks are set up for good milage on flat ground, not for pulling hills.
terminals are kinda dumpy, but i try to avoid Memphis as much as i can.
no prepass/Ipass
thats all i can think of right now.
good luck -
best of luck to you.

well what can i say, its been a long first day but went pretty good. Started the morning by meeting in lobby to take shuttle van to terminal and start at 0700 AM. The first half of the day was a whole bunch of paper work and drug test and going over material what they expect the drivers to accomplish during oriontation. We had pizza for lunch and had us pick what lunches we wanted for tuesday and wensday lunch. The second half we went over more guide lines and rules and went over there way of doing load securments, a little differant than what i was taught but nothing major, tuesday we will be out doing hands on securments and tarping and then we have to go out and drive the shuttle van and demenstrate the Smith System. We also have to register to get are Twit card for the ports and we have to take a test to be certified to haul coils out of Alabama, it will be another long day for tuesday. They told us that the experiance drivers would get assigned there trucks on wensday and that the ones that were getting trainers would be picked up on thursday. Overall it has not been to bad, everybody is layedback and has treated us quite well (im impressed) its been a good time. Thats about all i got for now and will add more on tuesday, have a good one.
