Had a bit if a fright with my truck this morning. Went to shipper to grab a load and after I left it looked as if I was kicking up all kinds of dust off the road. Came to a stop light and it was smoke just flowing out from under the truck from someplace unknown. I stopped at the first place I could, which was were I was scaling, and popped the top. It wasn’t smoking as bad but I could not tell where it was coming from. Only area that seemed to be smoking at all was some connection running from the back left corner of the engine back under the truck.

By that time it mostly cleared but still left me with a WTF feeling. Called Breakdown (awesome guys) and thinking maybe it was the turbo (not sure about that) but best swing by the shop.

So I’m heading to the shop just to have them eliminate anything serious and keep rolling.

It does occasionally smoke during regen but that occurred much earlier in the morning well before I started my day.

There was a smell to it but it wasn’t hot oil or brakes.

Anyone else have this happen?

If they don’t want to run certain areas, rhen they need to find a carrier with the lanes they want..it’s that simple… I chose my company because I like the lanes they run out west primarily yes we do run north east occasionally and I just ran a load Out of Washington to Virginia and what not which is maybe a once a year run I agree with you if they sign on with a company knowing darn well with the company runs and they don’t want to go here and they don’t want to go there and they need to go find a company that runs where they wanna run

 

Some people are weird that way , some of the best cash I made at cornhusker back in the day was sitting at my favorite motel in Ridgefield Park NJ and swapping out trailers there with drivers that wouldn't go into NYC.
There were times I sat there all week shuttling trailers in and out of NYC and collected all the NYC pay plus milage , layover and expenses...then on Friday load for omaha and I wasn't the only one that did it .
Hell there were people that wouldn't go to BD in Canaan conn. And I'd sit at maybrook ny to shuttle theyre trailers.

 

Also this is another example of carriers catering these fools who wont do their jobs. It’s an absolute pathetic joke to be honest.. carriers need to stop catering to these fools

 

Best load I ever got out of Morehouse loaded in Vernon cal .
First drop was fort worth TX.
2nd was up by the old Chicago stockyards .
3rd drop was Baltimore MD.

 

Not sure if it's still like this, but when I went through orientation they had a Form with a questionnaire you filled out, one of the questions was weather or not you were willing to go to the northeast (or maybe just NYC), didn't pertain to me so I can't remember how it was worded. If that driver didn't specify that with FCC before he signed on, then I agree, he should be gone!.. they do they're part with getting drivers home on time and providing the miles they promised. Drivers have to be accountable to hold up their end of the deal, which is not too much too ask, deliver the dam load!!!! No matter how good the company is, they'll always be some pansie ### mofos out here!... PS.... If this offended you, YOU are part of the problem!!
