Now Honest TB, that, my friend, is a quote for the ages. May I borrow that, giving you full credit, if, and when, I use it?

I will stand by this as a former driver. Quality reefer company with one of the best hometime policies in the industry

Did you just use the words E.W. Wiley and fairly decent companies in the same sentence?? The SSB is running off the roadway...

If I need to be b####-slapped I can take it. My only info was from a couple of relatives that ran for them. They really had no complaints except the Mack tractors they used to run.

All decent companies. Holland Enteprises, Great Plains Transport, Magnum. I went with Great Plains Transport because of salary and paid home time. I do not have to worry if it snows or if freight stops. My check still comes.

Growing up in Fargo I never really heard anything bad about EW Wylie and they owned midwest mack in Fargo other than if you lived in north dakota you wernt going to see home much .
North dakota is a tough freight market and always has been .
Lots of freight goes in but not alot comes out other than grain , potatoes, sugar and turkeys out of nw Minnesota.
Competition is stiff and most of what I mentioned is seasonal and most successful companies there get the equipment out of the region and keep it out .

Bud A., Lonesome and TB John Thank this.

That would explain why the vast majority of Magnum’s freight was out of the MSP area or other locations in southern Minnesota. I’d go weeks, maybe even months without seeing Fargo

I was raised in a small town north of Grand Forks. There was little employment opportunities around there. You either worked in agriculture, a business supporting agriculture or you drove a truck. My ambition was to move to Fargo, (the "big" city), and work for Stieger tractor. Life took me in a different direction.

Lonesome, Opus and bzinger Thank this.
