i think only the true, dedicated working person, maybe one with family, mortgage, etc, will hold out for that......even 10 years.

even as such myself back in my days..??

i'd walk away...and frankly, i walked away many times from jobs that just sucked.

not worth my times, or battles.

Check out the food service job links posted below:

Cheney Brothers -- Port St Lucie, FL -- Logistics Driver

    -- OR --

Cheney Brothers -- Port St Lucie, FL -- Route Driver

    For both positions listed above:
    • 1 year of previous CDL experience is preferred -- but not required
    • You will either need to have a HAZMAT endorsement at the time of hire -- or be able to get one
I have no previous experience with Cheney Brothers -- nor do I know anyone else who has.

Personally -- I think you're better off in the long run pursuing possible opportunities with the Cypress/Sunbelt flatbed world, discussed earlier/elsewhere.

If Sunbelt/Cypress simply is not hiring out of your area of Florida (or will be anytime soon, like in early January 2024) -- THEN I would investigate the openings shown above.

Did many trailers loaded just like that. Not fun at all, but the pay was good. OTR is much better, from my experience.

You can talk to Cheney Bros about waiving the 1 yr requirement.
Lots of experienced drivers out there now looking for work due to trucking companies closing down or laying off. Some that recently hired new cdl school grads are now only hiring drivers with 1 or 2 years experience because there's so many of those drivers looking for high quality work.

I agree. They always have brand new equipment and pay well. I delivered to a Giant warehouse in central PA. All new trucks. Saw Wegmans often as well. Great equipment and pay. Best part is you don’t have do case work. Maybe just an electric pallet jack.

I've forgotten many of the details, but I think you have to register your car there and change your drivers license/cdl to that new address.
