Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

They come from third world countries that has an economy based on rocks and sand, and the best they can do here is wash their stinky ### feet in a sink next to me while I’m trying to brush my teeth at 0330 in the morning? Maybe it is me.

 

I must admit, this government run and controlled industry I’m a part of is a total sheet show to say the least. My medical card expires on January 3rd. I figured since I have time, and I’m at the yard, let me go ahead and get my physical done with our nurse practitioner Brittany, whom I might add is probably the nicest, funniest person in all of Abilene. So I go down to safety, get the required authorizations and ok’s then walk down to get my physical. My reasoning is very simple, I’ll be home over the holidays and my card will be expired when I come out. So instead of dealing with Concentra and all their nonsense, I’ll get it done now. Got it done, got a 2 year card, which I might add, I begged her to give me a 6 month card, but she couldn’t. Pissed in the cup and left with my 2 year card. I walked out to my truck and drove around to the truck wash. 5 minutes later I get a phone call from my DM Steve telling me safety needs to see me. I drive back to the main building, go downstairs and safety tells me I got pulled for a random. They tell me they can’t use the cup of piss I left 20 minutes earlier and that I need to drop another specimen. I go back into Brittany’s office, fill out the paperwork, get handed a cup and can’t piss. So, I was told to go drink water, walk around and come back in an hour. What do I do? Go up to Waffle House, eat breakfast, drink a pot of coffee then go back and finish the task at hand. Its amazing, I’ve been pulled for a random at least 2 times a year for the last 5 years. This time was a complete bureaucratic joke.

 

Now I can leave and do the job I’m paid to do. Running up to Front Royal Va for a drop and hook at Sysco going to Sysco In Cleveland for tomorrow morning. I’ve done this load about a dozen times over the years, easy peasy on both ends.
