I just finished reading some of the pros and cons about prime. The will truth as I posted back in early February. Company drivers sure you'll make enough maybe # .34cpm if you get the mileage you want to put food on the table and make your bills plus make your deliveries on time everytime. But if your late your screwed for a few weeks till you can redeem yourself to fleet manager no miles. As a former lease operator for prime & CRL dba GreatWide, I honestly made more money with greatwide. You have to look at what prime is actually taken out. .32cpm for fuel including reefer that your supposed to be reimbursed. Then look what you paid for in fuel you have just paid almost double what it should have cost you. Now look at the terminal, how do you think they paid for that monster of a terminal # Springfield not company drivers but the lease operators, plus they were getting to completly remodel Pittston terminal the same way but just a little smaller but not much again paid for by the lease operators. Company driver get the good loads, lease operators get the junk loads. Do you honestly think they let a lease operator haul H1N1 medication. No the company drivers get those loads. People you have to read between the lines to get the full picture. Run the numbers like I did, thats why I got out when I did. And where I'm at now I've cleared 4 times the money that I would have # Prime with benefits.

This post speaks for itself... :biggrin_2556:

"Run the numbers" ??? If your math is as bad and incoherent as your words, and punctuation.... then no wonder you struggled.

I guess you know from experience about being late.

don't you mean... "Do you honestly think they let a lease operator" (Yourself) "haul H1N1 medication" who has already proved he cant make an on-time delivery.

Honestly, I believe all the Hi-Val loads go to teams (Lease and or Company) whenever possible. Greater security when one person can stay in the truck while the other goes into a truck stop.

BTW... 2 years now and Ive never been late.

They don't hire us on the company or the lease side to be late. That's what we sell - "on-time service." It's really not that hard - don't accept loads you know you can't deliver on, keep the left door shut, drive the truck. Sorry man - if you had problems with this, you should look in the mirror at who to blame.

As far as the FMs go - they get fined when we're late, and their paycheck is largely based on our success. YOU screw your boss often enough, and he probably won't be in too much of a hurry to get himself in trouble on your behalf.

Huh? Did you even bother to read the lease agreement? As far as fuel goes, you get paid 100% of whatever Prime collected for FUSU. They base their charges on the average (which isn't necessarily 32 cpm) - that's not necessarily what you get if the customer didn't agree to it. Reefer fuel is on your ticket.

Well then, hire an attorney and sue them for it! If you had issues with your settlements, you should have brought it to payroll's attention at the time.

Well heck! Thank-ya boss! Sure glad you paid for that all on your own!! Nice of ya to think of us company drivers in a good light!!

I think they paid for that by being the good businessmen that you aren't.

Well, that's bull. I pull my share of crappy paying loads - get the same mileage rate every time, but just the same the LINE and FUSU numbers say the same. As far as pharmaceutical loads go, I know lease ops who get them - of course, they manage to deliver their loads on time.

What you posted in Feb. is the truth? You said then that Prime was charging you pump price plus .32cpm for fuel and shorting your settlement $500-$1000 per week. Sure they did. I don't see any truth in either one of your posts.

I honestly cannot understand why after reading on this board or any other the horrors of a l/p from prime or anybody else any would get caught up in it. Is chrome really that addictive?
