When they dismissed it down to a civil what exactly did they amend it to? Double parking?long as it’s not a moving violation it’s nothing to report.

 

I remember many years ago driving a rental vehicle westbound on I-20 in South Carolina. The cruise control for some reason was broken. That car was so smooth I was driving at almost 90 before I saw what I was doing and slowed down. I'm not disputing your word OP, but sometimes driving a strange vehicle you can lose the "feel" of the car. Along with this, I know many cops. Most are retired, but a few are still working. Almost all of them have told me that if they desired they could write tickets all day during their shifts. Most of the time they will let some things go by. I bring this up because a cop does not have to lie to get their quotas. The only real time a cop does this is to settle a score etc. According to guidance from the FMCSA, the States are not supposed to do what was done in this case, EVEN with you in a POV. Consider yourself lucky! As some have said go get a copy of your DMV. I would also wait a year and get a free copy of your DAC. As long as both are clean I highly recommend you not tell your safety dept! Just going forward be careful when driving a strange vehicle, you can get fast and not be aware of it!

same can be said with motorcycles....i have had at least 2, and they were under 1,000 cc's and i can say that they rode superbly, and until i looked at the speedo....i didn't realize i was doing near 100..........

 

Yes in Virginia it is a criminal offense to be driving 15 over. Don't be doing 15 over in VA. My wife got one a our family lawyer was needed
