Maybe the rings aren’t fully sealed up yet. When they were brand new, used to take 70k miles then suddenly mpg’s would jump about 1 mpg. My Dad would get a new one every 100k. It was a consistent thing. My mpg’s didn’t go up till just recently at about 180k. Then it blew the head gasket. Don’t know what to think about all that. Very disappointed. When I get it apart hopefully with help from everyone on ttr, I can figure out why it happened.

 

I would almost guarantee mine will be the one that goes to 100K before anything good happens and not one mile sooner lol. That’s just my luck.
