I think Swift is garnishing my paycheck making me pay for a tow.

It’s not legal to deduct anything from an employees check other than lawful taxes or court ordered child support WITHOUT CONSENT of the employee. I’m pretty sure you agreed at some point in orientation….

I work at a top of the line company, and we aren't in the business of making drivers pay out of pocket for mistakes. Fire them, sure. But not charging them.

Most places have drivers sign things that have it in the fine print.

Im trying to make the best of it during my year here. I'm at 51 CPM but there is plenty of freight. Swift will work you as hard or as little as you want. I don't think other Swift drivers realize their appointments and windows that they give you are usually make believe and we can pick up or deliver freight "early".

Yep which is why most companies these days get you to sign a whole stack of documents, this gives them the legal rights, although your supposed to have rights too. As always read the fine print or get someone else to do that for you before signing the dotted line. Can't see why the company should pay for any towing fees if you parked somewhere your not supposed to. Just like should the company pay if you get a speeding fine? No of course not, so same deal if you parked where you were not supposed to then you'll have to pay the fees. Naturally the company would of been charged for it, so there just getting their money back, just like if you have to pay for tolls you should be reimbursed for them, so too they should be reimbursed for the towing fees. Taking it out of your pay seems like the most practical way to do so although by rights they should still get your permission, which if you signed a contract when you were first got hired it more than likely would state something there, if not then you may have a case, although I personally would not make a big deal about it, unless they charged you for more than what the towing fees cost.

Many truck doors are aluminum, not steel. Magnetic signs won't work on them. My 2020 Kenworth T680 was aluminum cab/fiberglass hood on a steel frame.
