Of course I do. I carry a foam pad and cardboard to do so. It's not like one needs to get their whole body under the equipment. Your driver didn't do his job.

If it were the size of a PEBBLE as you claim the tread would have to be well below passing an inspection or it couldn't physically pierce the tire.

I agree about inconsiderate drivers but Ridgeline claims his drivers weren't doing anything wrong so I don't think your assertion would apply here.

Bottom line is his driver didn't do his job. I bet he did a half-assed walk around in the dark with no flashlight at best.

you might be "1 in a million" that'll actually get down and dirty doing a pre-trip.

in all my 48 years, i never did that, and i found things with out the need to do that.

you sound so sure of yourself being an "expert pre-tripper", when in fact, you sound like a keyboard bully.

that man @Ridgeline has more drivers than you, has more trucks that you'll ever have, and most likely has more experience than you will ever have as well.

I go under the truck every few weeks when i grease for full inspection , on the road is usually oil, water, belts, start truck, turn lights and 4 ways on, hit tires, in between axles stick my fat head under and check the inside of the opposite tires and the diffs for oil, check pin handle, hit rear axle, check pin, check reefer fuel and side of trailer for any new damage that might of appeared, same tire/oil check on trailer, go around and do same Down passenger side, I’ll also get out and kick out chock blocks or even pieces of pallets, stones etc out to make sure I don’t run them over, to be honest though something small that blends in if it’s not at the right angle I probably wouldn’t see it either, especially at night,

Everyone attacks me but somehow I'm the bully? You people are like an angry mob. You gang up on someone and attempt to beat them into submission until they agree with you. You can jam your intimidations tactics where the sun dont shine. I don't believe his driver did a proper pre-trip. Get over it.

There's no such thing as a perfect pre-trip. Everyone should have a good routine ultimately we're human and might miss something though. But I mean come on, you lay down on the ground with your flashlight every morning and look to make sure no-one sabotaged your tires as a part of your normal pre-trip? At a Pee-lot? Lol

I agree. Certainly no such thing as a perfect pre-trip so much to go over things get missed. It happens and nobody's perfect either.

I have to clarify that I don't always lay under the equipment for every pre-trip. I never do them in piss covered lots either.

However, I do use my foam kneeler, carpet scrap or cardboard to use as support so I can see the backs/inside of tires. I'm always worried about hub seals blowing.

So I'm under the equipment obviously but I'm not laying down and rolling all over like on a creeper or something. It would be nearly impossible for me not to see those things under the fronts of any of my tires. In the dark its more likely but I'm paranoid and thorough. If you don't believe me then I'm sorry, I can't help you.

Im only literally crawling around under the equipment if I think something is wrong or I'm doing an inspection which is a couple times a week. Or if the weather is too bad it might only be a couple times per month.

First off, I am not trying to pick on or beat you into submission. What I am saying if you read carefully is these things are hard to see and comprehend as being bad because they blend well sit very close to the contact patch. Even most guys doing a pretrip with reasonable accountability wouldn’t get down that low every single time, stick thier hand that close to the contact patch to catch one. I am also saying that I agree too many won’t do a proper pretrip and that would actually help with someone carrying out thier plan at destruction.

Now what you are not doing is admitting to the fact that other than in pictures you haven’t seen them and no matter what you claim about your pretrip those of us that have driven long enough know. Which is that no matter your claims of perfection you just like the rest have and will miss things, be distracted, not feeling a thousand percent on a given day and in all honesty until you see one and how they are made with one end longer and how they actually fit so snug and blend with a dark tire on the dark ground that even the most accomplished driver could easily miss one.

In simple terms, we are both correct and some might catch them on some days and in certain lighting but to smugly say you would never miss one on any day in any lighting is ludicrous. This is why your getting flack and your arrogance that your perfect is interpreting any attempt at explaining just how easy these are to miss is leading you to assume your being picked on rather than being part of a conversation.

I appreciate that. I just can't see how something so small that i can't see it with my own eyes but yet it's powerful enough to put down multiple 14-16 ply tires like some sort of magic weapon. I've driven over some crazy things over the years without a puncture but tiny little jacks are going to take out many tires in rapid fashion. Some were even found on the sidewall. How do you explain that? Lame pre-trip. That's how.

What I don't appreciate is your insults and nsme calling like Buddy. You're entitled to your opinion but the name calling and insults just make you both look like children. Nobody is making you read my posts and you aren't being forced to respond to them either.

You've formed your opinion on me and made a judgement call. I can respect that. Now why don't you make another adult decision and leave me alone if you can't converse without the insults and name calling?
