Operations, on a daily basis multiple times a day, deal with nothing but drivers, quitting, abandoning a truck, calling in upset because they can’t find a parking spot, calling in because they can’t think on the fly, and the biggest issue? Can't trip plan to run the truck on time and efficiently. Then I show up and do the right thing, every load for the last 11 years and they can’t understand how a driver can do that. I just told this person that called me and told me they need to get the truck back, that when I leave a place of employment, I always bring the truck back. Then I told him it does me very good to hand you the keys and tell you why I’m leaving, especially after almost 11 years.

I just want out of here. It’s time. This is how I’ll remember my 10.8 years here.

JB, you’ve done it right all along. Now you’ve got a full fuel tank and a plan. Your part is complete.
If the clown show can’t finish the production, I’d have not the least bit of bad feelings of heading to Richmond sans load and kissing them bye bye.

Get to shipper this morning and check in and told to back into door 5, another truck there so I think Im next but nope there was another truck snd thankfully he told me he was next or else Id have jumped in front of him. Lady inside is supposed to tell us what order but instead just keeps telling everybody door 5 pissing ppl off and confusing everybody.

You have done all you can do the right way, but now you might have to play dirty and drive back up there empty. Wouldn’t put it past them playing childish games to try and keep you or mess up your next adventure. Good luck where you are headed next. Hopefully they stop acting dumb and get you loaded up there so you don’t gotta play dirty. This entire industry has gone down hill and only a few good companies left out there that run the way they should be ran. Can’t hire a bunch of dumb college educated idiots with no driving experience or too little experience to run a trucking company.

I went through the same bull crapola when I left that company in New Jersey. Full working two week notice and in the end they wanted me to go to Atlanta and swap out a load to then take to Pennsylvania and then to Jersey. I told them it would be parked at the Loves just North of the Tennessee border in Virginia. Amazing how fast they found a load back to Jersey for me.....

4 hrs later finally got loaded, kind of sucks we gotta wait two hrs before detention kicks in. Load of salad dressing to smyrna, tn dropping on wm yard.

Finally got loaded in Miami. Was loaded and rolling north at 1:30 this afternoon. I’ll be in Richmond tomorrow evening about 6pm to drop the truck, trailer and load at the yard. I’ll pick up my rental car Saturday morning, come back to the yard to throw my bags in the car, then head towards Humboldt Tn.

I figure Saturday night in a hotel in Knoxville, then Sunday Monday and Tuesday night in a hotel in Humboldt. For a fleeting moment, I thought maybe I’d drive home for Saturday night and Sunday night then get up early Monday morning and leave out for Humboldt, but that seems like too much work.

I was home for 9 days, I thought she had enough of me. When I mentioned to her earlier I might come home, she was all for it.
