Welcome to the board neighbor. Not sure if Coonass has had any problem's like I have with living in Louisiana and getting home with companies but everyone here will have some insight for ya. Just make sure you take some thing's with a grain of salt and let it roll off your back.

Found myself in a similar boat. Laid off in 10/09. Truck driving has always been something in the back of my mind ever since I can remember. I blame it on Jerry Reed. I have got alot of good info here and have met some good folks.

If I lived where you live and I use too.I lived half my life south of I-10.I would look for a hotshot job.
You can do real good if you get your own customers like a wellhead company.With a small Toyota type pickup something that gets the best mileage.

Yea, I live about 1/2 mile from I-49 and I-20 is just a hop skip and jump from here. I don't understand why companies have such a hard time getting something through here. I've got Minden on my mind. Depend's if I can land a local gig around the area. If so then more than likely I'll end up moving out that way some where.
