I looked up the gcwr of 2005 F350.
23,500LB for gear ratio 4.10
My trailer and truck both weight empty 13500LB
This mean I only have 10,000LB payload. Can the truck pull more?

Your truck is good for 23,500.......
Your trailer will be good for.....????

GVWR
Truck = 13,000LB
Trailer= 18,000 LB
now my GCWR = 31,000LB
However, looking at the towing chart, I see 4.10 gear ration is rated at 23,500LB GCWR
That means I should not go over this number? Will the the transmission and engine fail if I go over this number? -
I think fifth-wheel towing is under 15,000 trailer and load.

A lot of this is going to depend on how the cargo is loaded. You got to understand the rules, leverage & weight distribution. That's something that only time & experience is going to educate you.
My suggestion is if your more than 1/2 your max weight, take it to a scale & weigh it. Its gonna save you an over weight on axle somewhere.
You need to know what each axle rating is & how to properly distribute your weights to each axle.
You need to look at each axle weight & your gross weight.
Using your numbers, your gross combination weight cant exceed 31,000 lb.
I am not an expert on hot shot weights, so I'll welcome any corrections to my post from other members.Lite bug Thanks this. -
The GVWR of trailer would be 25,000LB+13,000LB truck= 38,000LB.
Does that mean my f350 would be able to pull all that weight?
I think the manufacture put a limit" safety of factor" on the gcwr of 350 not exceeding more than 23,500LB total combined weight
I could be wrong -

Hopefully some of the other hotshot guys can help you out.wl90.200 Thanks this.
