Just wondering how the Roehl drivers like the 7/7 program? are there any current drivers that could give me some info on this? thanks

I love it. I would have been out of this industry along time ago if it wasn't for it. The problem is you are only working half a year so you are not making a lot of money. I'm a trainer and my wife has a decent job, so that helps some. Other guys have jobs on their off weeks. One guy I know does real estate, another has rental properties, another shares a farm with his brother, some others tend bar. It was started with retired military guys with a pension in mind. Overall the pluses out weigh the negatives for me. I did the out two weeks take 3 days off deal. I had enough of that after a year. I was not making enough money to justify only having 5-6 days off a month. Now I have plenty of time to hunt and fish. I actually look forward to going back to work after a week off.

If anyone is still running 7/7 with Roehl, could you tell me about:
1) Weekly mileage on average
2) What kind of customers do you serve and where, generally, do you run to?
a) The "closest" terminal for me will probably be akron.
b) i don't actually mind unloading if the pay reflects that.
3) When do you actually start and end the week?

I ran it for a while. Saturday morning if I remember right. Mileage when I ran it, last year out of St Paul Park, was about 2200. I nearly went broke. I went on it to look for a local job, never found one, and gave up on it.
One time it took the other driver 48 hours to get a pm in Ellenwood so I got my truck two days late.Powell-Peralta Thanks this. -
I have been averaging about 3100 miles a week for the last three months. I'm a trainer though so that helps getting a couple hundred extra miles a week. When I did not train I got about 2800 miles a week. I think it is mostly van freight out of the Akron yard. I know we pull loads out of the business right next to the yard. It seems like dry van hauls a lot of paper loads. Most loads are no touch and lumpers are reimbursed. They will actually pay the lumper more than you so I usually get the lumper. I start on Sat morning and get done on Friday. I never know when on Friday, just depends how the week goes and how many hours you burn. 7/7 drivers usually stay east of I-35. I usually get a 1000-1200 mile run to run over the weekend and then another long one back to the midwest. Wed-Fri I do shorter runs to keep me in the area until it is time to go home.Powell-Peralta Thanks this.
