Past that it I find it intresting that 90% of the hams on 10 meters run 100 watts or less and work the world. YET ...... on CH6 they run 10,000 watts and can't hear a thing ......
If you run enough power you will get to a point of you can't hear the other guy and it takes just a few mega watters to oblirate the channel for everyone.squirrellsgnwild Thanks this. -
All true. Years ago I had used one of those little matchbox Unidens...I think it was a PC66?- with a small footwarmer and got out all over with it. Probably paid $25 for the radio; everyone said they thought it was loud and proud, very clean.

Cost would be about $100 more or less depending on the radio model. The advantages to having this done would be that,
1. If you already have a radio you could save money over buying a newer more powerful radio for more power and not have to do additional wiring or or other modifications.
2. You could have a legal looking 11 meter cb radio with the power of a dual final export.
3. You wouldn't have to buy an amp for a little additional power.fr8tshkr Thanks this. -
