Blue smoke generally indicates motor oil in the combustion chamber
-
If it happens only after coasting, my guess is the valve guides are worn.
-
That I understand the issue is it only does it when coasting down a mountain for some time without touching gas paddle or using jakes for long time then accelerating. Head has been rebuild 3 months ago two weeks ago I did overhead tolerances ware tight but that's normal untill valves sets in. After overhead no more smoke or miss and today it started again.

Raw diesel has blue tint, bad injector would be my first thought.
little cat 500, AModelCat and wore out Thank this. -
Head is 3 months old new valves new guides bad guides would be leaking oil anytime engine is on. But it only time it puffs misses and stumbles is when coasting down a mountain using jakes for a while then getting back on the gas paddle at the bottom of the mountain. I don't see no oil consumption it never puffs or stumbles unless coasting down on jakes for extended period of time the accelerating away. 0 smoke on start up in very cold temps no problems in any other situations besides using jakes/ coasting down for long periods then accelerating away which is why I'm having issues figuring this out.

This was my thought also Installed all new O rings on injectors and I did see one injector having more soot sticking on the tip and weaker spray spread on top of the cylinder I did clean all injector tips. But even if valves guides ware leaking even though they new it wouldn't stumble miss like injector just went out for a second.

Has anyone figured out what the problem was because I'm having the exact same issue
-
Yes I did figure it out it was bad overhead guy set my injectors height to 81m while I needed 82.1m what happened eventually my rocker arm for one of the injector broke because it was set to tight. It caused Alot of problems that injector got pushed further inside the head and damaged injector cup. I ended up getting a new head
