U been out that long that u don't know what's out there anymore? Lol

Ya we have a lot of 387's out there but no more then 5 389's custom. Really nice trucks.

Anywhooo, been stuck in florida for the past week. Made the most of it did a 34 in a walmart parking lot in orlando, got a taxi and went to the epcot center. If anyone gets a chance to do that I would def make it a plan if ur ever down there.

Heading to OH now to see what the north looks like.

Think I found a dedicated job with schneider 6 out, 2 in. Salary. So no more unexpected low mile weeks.

Anybody know if I can pay central the $500 I still owe them and get the hell out?

The company has 0 389's sir, not a 1 company or lease...

However we do have 1, count them 1 single 389 leased on to the company from a guy that I believe lives up in UT. The truck 100% his, not the company's in anyway, shape or form.

####tte I was quoting Smadronia!! I know the company doesn't have 389s or we would have been suckered into leasing one instead of the 387:biggrin_25511:

Have the job lined up before giving notice or at least print your reviews so you can fight the crap they put on your DAC.

Central might pay $0.85 or more per mile, but you're going to seeless than 1/3 of that by the time they get done. You can bring a rider, it's about $150 a year if I remember right, the policy allows you to have up to 2 people ages 10 and over with you at the same time, as long as you let central know.

$150 a year and they take the money when the paperwork is approved.

Also they need the passenger info, picture ID, etc... Trust me, I tried to say my passenger was a buxom blonde/brunette/redhead between the ages of 20 and 30 :biggrin_25525:. Didn't work. :biggrin_25513:

Parked at the hook in Texarcana for the evening. Almost had an overnight beer run to Atlanta out of here, but it had just been taken by some guy with a basset hound and an escort car. :biggrin_2556: Got a short run from Galveston to Tracy CA instead. Now some poor L/O will get ticked cause I took some Sweeeeet miles.

I finally figured out how to get back to Cali, I requested time off in Bangor ME.

They claim to start ya at .85 plus fuel surcharge for loaded miles if you maintain above a certain MPG average. Get crappy MPG and no surcharge.

Out of all that comes your truck payment, insurance, road taxes, prepass, quailcomm, fuel, etc... because you are leasing the truck, therefore you are responsible for the payments, maintenance, insurance etc...

Somewhere amongst the guns and moonshine in my sleeper I have a paper with all that info on it that some guy at the CDF gave me, just can't find it at the moment.

Now, that being said, first look up the definition of a lease. Second, go to OOIDA's website and look around for their info on leasing. Third be aware that the IRS is going after trucking companies hard over drivers being misclassified as contractors. It is important to also know that they are doing this for company drivers, lease ops and.... wait for it..... yes.... owner ops. Cause the question is, if you are leased to a trucking company, you can bet your last tarnished penny that there is an exclusivity clause somewhere in that contract. And with that clause in there, are you really an independent contractor or just a plain ole employee?

You too could know all this info by reading the news rags you can find at any truckstop and if you have sat radio listen on Sirius 147/XM171 to the Lockridge Report and the OOIDA Landline Now segments.

And why you're at it, brush up on all the CSA2010 info you can find (not just those silly videos central wanted you to watch), because 80% of the drivers out and here and probably 90% of enforcement officers DO NOT KNOW.

Remember... be a professional, because most of the other morons out here aren't!

Also, thanks for having to go into those Rkinsaw scales. When I got to them they gave me a green on the prepass.
