I am confused you take food stamps but yet you say you fear government assistance maybe you need to set the bar a little higher for you and your family?

1laidbacktrucker.... I'm not gonna beat you up either. But if drivers expect to get paid for every little thing they do while on duty, then there won't be many companies to drive for because no one is going to pay for every single thing a driver does. Could driver pay be better? Sure, no doubt about that. But don't expect it to happen anytime soon, or at all for that matter

Sounds like you had an attitude problem and they got tired of dealing with it. Attitude reflects performance. IE a driver with a bad attitude will perform poorly. They asked me to sweep out a trailer that another driver left with boxes all over, I did it asked for $30 and got it. No prob. 30 min after I left they asked me to go back and take another trailer to have a flat fixed. I ask which was more important. Me making my del on time or fixing a flat that they could call a repair truck for. Guess what they did? As for wanting you to leave I have no doubt of that. You leave and they don't have to put up with your attitude any more.

well, let me tell you where my problem came in at, when they cut my pay, i was making .45cpm and they cut it to .37cpm and they didnt even called it a cut in pay, now i do my job and very well i might add, now let me say this, im not here to speak ill about marten, i was other there almost 3 years and marten have to do what they have to do, now my first dm, we got along great and he made sure i got paid for every thing i did, so i went on their general mills account and lets just say that my dm and I, just had a personality conflicts, see she didnt know how to talk to people and expect me to work for free on top of that, and before i left marten i started to get headaches for working for them.

I think both you guys are right. There was no doubt a personality issue with the DM, this led to your attitude problem and poor performance which led to your leaving. The thing is that it is very simple for a company to find a new driver that they don't have to 'fight' to get the job done. I think most truck drivers are very independent and opinionated (me too) so there are a lot of posts on the 'BAD' company board when in fact the drivers are 50% of the problem.:biggrin_2556:

Ok listen, I understand not everyone had a good experience at Marten and for some it doesn't work out. So far, I really have no complaints. Will there be bad times? Of course? Will there be times that they make mad? Probably... the whole purpose of the thread was just to tell everyone how I was doing here. I don't like to change jobs, and this was a big move for me. I hope it's the last move for me too.
