O/O? Here I thought they were just renting the truck on a weekly basis for $1.40 per mile.

And only get half of the national average fuel surcharge that’s owed to them.

Years ago, a driver told me that there is a "prescale" you drive over when on the ramp. If it detects you're going faster than the speed limit, it automatically kicks you over into the scale lane, instead of the bypass. Do not know how factual that tidbit is, but I always do the speed limit on the ramp, just in case.....

Back in the truck. Took 'em an extra day to get everything fixed. (In addition to my windshield needing replacement, the blower on my bunk AC/Heater stopped working and they didn't get the parts in until yesterday.)

Spent a good hour going through the cab with duct tape wrapped sticky-side out around my hand, patting down all the surfaces. Found a bunch of tiny glass shards that I'd missed before. Hopefully I won't discover any the hard way in my bunk.

They offered me an overnight load, but I said "Nah." I'll do it if I have to, and I've made that clear to them. If there's a load that needs to be covered and I'm the only one that can cover it, I'll run it overnight. But if they're giving me a choice in the matter, welp, I'm pretty much always going to choose "no". As that was the only thing they had leaving on today's calendar date, I got a load picking up in Jarratt in the morning and delivering in Groveport..

Whenever I get a load of that nature, I travel 40 minutes down the road and spend the night at the Davis truck stop in Stony Creek. Cuts 40 minutes off the drive tomorrow, and lets me get to Jarratt in 20 minutes.

Kicked off my load of drinks in chicagoland this morning then bounced to new castle to drop my empty reefer. Chicagoland and Indy traffic dragged things out a bit longer than wanted but on par for the course I suppose. Bounce to Groveport in the morning for the Nashville run then probably a 34.

Driver had a family emergency so they asked me if Id take his atlanta load out of new castle instead of the nashville and I agreed, much easier back in that atlanta place I think

Got a phone call today from my previous DM, Steve. Wanted to say hello and see how the new job is going. Thought it was a nice jester on his part. But one little thing kept nagging at me all day, was it him that really called, or did he get that monthly memo from corporate telling him to call past employees and see if they want to come back? One thing is certain, when I quit a job and move on, that’s it for me. Even though I haven’t had many jobs in the last 42 years, every one I left, I never went back. I quit for a reason.

Finished a 34 in Wytheville then grabbed the west columbia bh off the yard and parked over night yesterday in dock and emptied then got sent a load 0830 to drop my reefer at Ridgeville and grab a dry van to load in Charleston then to the WM yard. Get to Walmart and all the dry vans have one flat tire, get told to pick one and call break down. Waiting on the tech to show and fix the flat on this trailer.

One of those messed up days….tech showed up about an hour and a half later and 30 minutes to replace the tire since it wouldn’t air up. Then discovered I was given the wrong address to get loaded at and drove in circles looking for the correct dock door was given to check in at. Correct address was 18 miles away. Get to the correct place and the signs pointed in the wrong direction so ended up going through the wrong gate and had to back up all the way around to the other side of the warehouse to get turned around to head to the correct gate. Finally got loaded and parked at pilot in bowden, sc since my 14 got ate up with the mess today. That was weird that all the dry vans had a flat tire at that Walmart DC.
