This hands down has been my worst mileage month since starting with Millis. Not a single week over 2000. Granted weather was a factor for one of those weeks.

You might be thinking of Seagoville. It is now used by CFI but is owned by Transport America.
CFI has the yard in West Memphis, although now with Olive Branch closed, everybody is using it. Rumor is it is being expanded, but the wife and I left CFI at the beginning of the year so we will never see it.

I see that Dave is actually chiming in on the FB page about how the freight situation is worse than they've ever seen it. Yet other are saying that Heartland drivers are not sitting like you guys are.
FWIW bulk freight is slow too, at least on the end dump side. But we aren't sitting nearly as much as you guys. Instead I have to do things like deadhead from Michigan to Ohio only to move a load of stone across the state that only pays $10/ton to the truck. That's still better than sitting, though.
I hear it's worse down south.Still undecided, MIT and Friend Thank this. -
Maybe it is, delivered a load Thursday morning in Summerville SC. Arrived 6 am unloaded at 8am. No loads available. Next morning got a load picked up in Thomson GA, delivered in Calhoun that afternoon. No loads available. Sat in Cville till yesterday morning. Got a load to Greensboro NC. Delivered at 540 am. No loads available sitting at the loves outside of Eden.

That sounds a lot like what was going on at CfI when we left.
MIT Thanks this. -
I have to wonder wtf has happened to try freight. Judging from what I see at Walmart and other retail stores, people are buying stuff.
Is maybe that so much stuff is now made in China that the only drivers getting work are the drayage guys hauling out of the ports?MIT Thanks this. -
People are buying way less right now big time.. lot of p&g loads i haul which usually are 44k lbs are half that size or less being shipped.

Between the sitting due to the weather and the reduced amount of freight you guys are mentioning I'm glad I'm retired.
-
It depends on the company. We have plenty of freight where we are now.
MIT Thanks this. -
Last couple of times I've been in Target plenty of people were buying stuff, and that was before the Stanley cups were so trendy. The shelves were stocked too. Same thing at the grocery stores except for when we had that cold stretch and it was too icy to drive. I even did my part to help you guys when I saw Leinies Summer Shandy available again and stocked up on it. In addition to being a favorite of mine, it made hunkering down during the storms more enjoyable when I could drink a beer usually only available during the summer while I was watching the storms.
