Neither, worn out junk, both of them, and you’ll have a big payment to go with the repairs
Rideandrepair, AModelCat, Last Call and 2 others Thank this. -
I’d say neither one unless you have deep pockets to address the upcoming issues with the emission system. The only way I’d even think about one of these trucks is if I knew absolutely everything that’s ever been done to it.
Rideandrepair, Constant Learner, Last Call and 2 others Thank this. -
No MX-13 it will break your wallet on repairs.
Parts are $$$$ and you can only get them from Pete or KW.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I don’t like Crapcadias but there are members on here that talk about how great Crapcadia life is so get it a shot
Cause a MX-13 will break yaRideandrepair and Sons Hero Thank this. -
Dd15 would have more power.
Paccar is taking over seems like.
I can't complain about the mx13 I'm driving. It had electrical sensor issues probably from the peoplenet box that was plugged in. Doesn't have much power and that could be from the low geared rear ends. It's the only motor I've driven that doesn't use a drop of oil between changes. Totally clean motor.
I don't think I'd be afraid to own a later mx motor. But I don't have alot of time with it yet to say for certain.
Whatever you end up with. First thing I'd do is make sure there's no logging device plugged in unless you need it.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Gamble either way but the Cascadia sounds better so far. What is a 6 year old Cascadia with 650k worth these days anyway?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

We have a 2018 with 375k that just died for unknown reasons. Some emissions malfunction. Def light blinking, derated to an idle, won’t regenerate, No codes. Tow Truck required. I’ve heard the 2017 and newer are better, so far I’m not convinced. At 650k, even without issues, it’s worn out in 2, maybe 3 years at most. Count on a few expensive repairs in that time. Each being anywhere from $2000-$13000 on average. Consider buying newer, maybe with a warranty if possible. Going cheap is only good for a year or so. Few get Lucky.
