hey I see you helped this guy find employment. My son has his cdl a with tanker and hazmat but no experience and failed his first drug test before starting. Is it hard for him to find a job. He’s currently living in Louisiana but can come back to Texas if he can find employment. Will it be hard for him to find a job? Please help.

 

Hi. I'm in LA. Has he done any of the steps he has to do, like get a SAP (substance abuse professional)? Where is he in the return to duty process?
If he's a new driver, yes it will be tough to find a driving job.
If y'all live around Houston or Dallas, it will be easier there than in Louisiana.

 

yes he’s completed the rtd. He is a new driver and it’s very hard for him to find a job because of the sap with no experience. He’s able to do a hair follicle and urine test.

 

do you know how long will he have to wait until someone is willing to hire him? Or is it best for him to find something local ?

 

Maybe someone else will have ideas but I added that it would be easier around Houston or Dallas or far west TX like Odessa.

It's really not about waiting. He had to find a company that will take a SAP driver and do the follow up testing plan with him.

Many companies have stopped hiring SAP drivers.
Some with no experience find jobs on Craigslist and Facebook. Both have trucker pages with jobs available.
