In most D&D type games characters are given a bunch of stats.

Strength and Dexterity are pretty self evident. Wisdom and Intelligence are key to what you are saying.

Intelligence is "book smarts" the kind you go to schools for. Wisdom is more "street smarts" the kind you usually learn through a painful experience.
As a group our Intelligence seems adequate to me. Our combined wisdom is off the charts......

 

I was thinking combined charisma is high.
