Might have burned my clutch? Salvageable/adjustable or nah?

Now that you mention it, I remember the moving the indicator part. Thanks for the info. Never tried myself, wasn't worth attempting and leaving a customer stranded.

@PermanentTourist, that anti tamper Torx is not an adjuster

2000 I worked at a IH dealer. We had pallets of clutches replaced under warranty. A few failed during delivery. I completely understand. It works sometimes, and sometimes not.

I've seen hydrovacs eat some clutches really good. The blower is driven off a drop box. Put the transmission in 7th hi and rev it up to 1800. Supposed to open up the blower to atmosphere before starting but some guys would just start reving it up while riding the clutch. Seen a couple intermediate plates come out in 2 or 3 pieces with the clutch discs resembling shapes similar to soup bowls!

Update: clutch was a red herring. Clutch is fine.

The problem was fuel leak and Air in fuel system, causing slipping like symptoms when fuel wasn't getting to the engine. The squeaking was actually air getting into the fuel pump.

I had the leaky shutoff valve replaced and everything is fine now
