Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Got up 0300 this morning to discover the reefer stopped working. Turns out the alternator belt broke, so waiting for the tech to arrive at Thermo King dealer in OK, City.

 

Apparently the alternator needed replaced too. Waiting to see if they do the dumb thing and tell me to show up anyway 8 hrs late to Walmart to unload.

 

Back in the truck from my doctor's appointment yesterday. Got a Hill-Phoenix load to Joliet, half a mile from where we usually deliver Ikea. PFJ right there on the corner. Says it's not due until Thursday morning, but I'm gonna roll in there tomorrow around noon to see if they'll take it a day early.

 

Say hi to Elwood and Joliet Jake for me.....

Load rescheduled for Thursday 0200, glad they decided not to tell me to just show up tomorrow 0900 when could get there.

 

Delivered up in Shoemakersille,waiting on the homebase.

 

Getting unloaded a day early here in Joliet. These Hill-Phoenix units are crated and palletized, and they're delivering to this warehouse, in which they are constructing a giant drive-thru refrigerator. So the contractors are happy to get it a day early. We'll see if they put anything on me for the rest of the day. Maybe I'll get lucky and the PFJ down the road will have a free parking spot available. I'm 1-for-4 on that front the past few times I've been there.

 

Preplanned early this morning with Atlanta BH after walmart empties me, only thing is if walmart takes 5 hrs to unload like normal then probably won’t be able to make that Atlanta run. We shall see.

 

Well, Walmart took 3 hrs to unload. Thankfully they accepted it all being one pallet fell over and a case split open and packages of bacon were scattered on the floor. Going to have to do a 7/3 split to get to Atlanta on time tomorrow morning.
