Even though things can appear obvious to you and the mechanics the dealership can’t skip steps in the warranty protocol or they won’t get paid. Unfortunately you purchased a truck without doing all the research and it’s biting you in the rear now. And WI is the only state I know of that has a lemon law for class 8 vehicles, so I doubt you’ll get them to take back a truck you bought.

    Siinman and 3lopezgene Thank this.

That describes it best. I purchased a used truck with low mileage for its age from a certified dealership, the only one offering a genuine Freightliner warranty. They provided a 90-day buyer’s assurance warranty, and on top of that, I purchased a 2-year/250,000-mile basic and max warranty. I thought that would be enough to handle any problems that might arise… I should have known better.

In my case the dealer followed the instructions from Detroit, as it is their responsibility to do, after which Detroit approved the replacement.
At first they said the One-Box but they had a few other things to check. Then about four hours later they said also the injectors.
I had a good rapport with the dealer over the years, they liked me and stepped up to make sure I was happy. And I didn’t even buy my truck from them. But I always paid my bills early.

    uncleal13 edit your post.

What you posted reads like the OP solved his problem. You might have, but OP still has not.

Glad Your dealer worked it out, but OP is still stuck with a #### dealer until he responds otherwise.

Just looked at the Select Trucks Max Warranty. Says it does cover the diesel oxidation catalyst and the selective catalytic reduction catalyst (which is the part that is built into the one-box itself).
So you probably should have it taken care of, as another post said, you just have to keep going in and the dealer has to follow Detroits procedures until they make a decision.

The mil has not appeared again. I talked to the general manager, we had a very positive interaction. I will work towards having a good relationship with them. Sr on another topic, since I see you have a lot of experience I need advice on maintenance, should I post my question on this thread?

Yes Sr thats exactly what they said and I find so annoying. Every time I go over there I get two days of downtime.

Hey whatever happened with this issue, did u find out the problem? Did Freightliner take care of it under your Select max warranty? I recently bought a truck from Select Trucks in Georgia and bought the 3year/350k warranty just wanting to know how solid the warranty really is

Hey 3lopezgene, hold Detroit's feet to the flame on this one if you have a good relationship with Selecttrucks.

They knew the truck had high idle issues when you bought it, and they should make it right, even if it is a new one box or doc or injectors. those are pricey parts.

    Siinman Thanks this.
