Go to the DMV in person and ask.
Most states all you must do is go to the DMV with a new DOT physical to have it reinstated.
-
But I got downgraded fours isnt there a grace period before I lost it forever or no for NJ isn't it 3 years so I'm 1 year too late now so there's no point.

Sounds like you are trying to talk yourself out of regaining your CDL.
Go in to your local DMV and ASK them. Very simple, and you will get the correct answers.Eddiec Thanks this. -
your DMV has a web site, check there.

They said to get permit so I have to go back to school repay so much money not worth it.
-
You should probably ask for clarification on whether they are asking for complete retraining or if it is just the testing/certification (or ask the school about what is needed to reinstate a CDL if you already have prior experience). You might also want to ask potential employers what it would take to hire you.

I already did the road test and knowledge test in the past knowledge test I got to those again.
-
take the written again, find an Owner Op, pay him and use his truck for the driven. He will have to go with you at all times, his truck.

Your comment came out a bit mangled, so I might have misinterpreted it -- if you have been told that you need to take a road test and knowledge test, then that is probably a lot cheaper (and faster) than repeating CDL training, so you might want to ask your local school(s) what they have to offer for experienced drivers (it also would be adviseable to talk to a few employers since the training requirements [for new drivers] have changed).Wargames Thanks this.
