Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Emptied out this morning and get loaded over by swift hq tomorrow morning dropping on the WM yard. That Sottsdale place sure is a doozy if you don’t get set up right the first time, only ever got it in the dock in one shot one time. Thank God NM is finally fixing the eastern half of I40 with all them holes they have. That phoenix place wasn’t bad though I should have looped around and sight side instead of blind side backing. Was an easy blind side but idiot car kept inching forward on purpose I swear hoping Id run his hood over so I had to get out and keep checking and motioned him to back up cuz otherwise it was going to take forever for me to get in the dock cuz Im not running him over so he can get a new car.

 

Back from Califnordia. Home for the next 6 days. Back in the truck on Wednesday.

 

Unloaded in Vicksburg,than was deadheaded to volvo for a Jacksonville drop tomorrow.

 

Get to exit 140 in NM this morning and the interstate was shutdown due to a fatality. Routed all traffic off and onto the north side frontage road that empties out at the 149 where the Loves is. Looked like a car either went across the median and head on into a big truck or was driving the wrong way trying commit suicide by truck. Both car and semi burned up. Added an extra hour and a half to my day. Parked at the Loves in El Reno for the night listening to the thunderstorm and rain, Ill sleep good tonight. Drop this load of energy drinks on the yard then a 34 being Ill only have about 4 hours left on my 70.

 

Dropped in volvo,than pu a load off the volvo yard going to Beech Island for a drop tommorrow, than pu from Beech going to Pa,for Sunday,been running steady here lately.

 

Back in the truck. Got a Hill-Phoenix load to Orangeburg, SC. It's a Dollar General/Family Dollar load, and that's HP's largest account. So Hill-Phoenix and Abilene like us to arrive at the receiver the night before. Which I have done. Currently pitched up in their parking lot for a 6:00am delivery time which, if past history is any indication, will not actually start until 8:00am.

Also found out the hard way that I forgot to update my IFTA sticker. So that's something I'll be taking care of next time I'm back at the yard.

 

Dropped my Volvo load in Justin, Tx Monday morning and guess the only load they could find loaded later that night at 2000 so had to work a split SB, load going to Ga but couldn’t get it all the way so they set me up to drop on the wm yard. Get to the shipper 1930 and check in and backed into the dock. Didn’t finish loading me until 2200 because every time a local truck showed up the fork driver would stop loading me and load the local then cone back to me. Well, that messed up my split being my 14 caught up again but fortunately I was able to park on the property after and got a 10 in then dropped Tuesday afternoon and got put on a load going to Theodore, AL which I delivered this morning then got deadheaded back up to Byhalia for a Gatorade load going to the Maumelle, AR.

 

Dropped in Pa,deadheaded to yard for pm,grabbed a bh for Groveport,now I'm on a Raleigh,that they'll take a day early,if bh gets it ready.

 

Get to pepsi in Maumelle at 0830 for a 0900 appt and figures they slow as molasses with all the docks full and trucks waiting for a dock. Was an empty 23 volvo sitting by at wm yard and asked if I could have it, was ok so I moved into it.

 

At home leave out for a Monday delivery in Sc,new publix,so I suspect half the fleet will be there,have a great weekend everybody.
