Yes feels like I've been duped and scanned in the worst way being new and trusting what they told me that the truck was a good working truck.

Somebody did not do their homework.
Worked for a company that had over 350 leased units.
All we did fuel and add fluids. Penske did the rest sometimes.
When a truck got to be a problem child off to the sale barn it went.
When it got close to the 500.000 mile mark and needed repairs off to the sale barn.
Penske is just like any other business it's all about the numbers.

You always want to spend a few hundred dollars and have a reputable mechanic inspect any piece of used equipment prior to purchase unless you have deep pockets to address the issues that come up. Unfortunately used truck purchases are as is unless you have an agreement stating otherwise.

    FLHT and mjd4277 Thank this.

Always,ALWAYS get a TRUSTED MECHANIC to do a PPI(Pre Purchase Inspection) before shelling out any money for a vehicle, especially a CMV. That mechanic will be able to find issues that the untrained naked eye could miss! Just because the seller says that maintenance was done and up to date doesn’t necessarily mean it. If anything the seller may have stripped the vehicle of new, useful components/parts and may have been trying to unload a problem child/headache vehicle!!

First mistake was buying an ex-fleet truck. Second mistake was not looking it over yourself.

Last Call, Lonesome and Long FLD Thank this.

I bought a truck from Penske. Yeah, 1100 mile drive to go check it out, but no deception.

Also no guarantees or offers thereof

    All good

Last Call and Lonesome Thank this.

That means skwat! If you bought it without having someone competent look at it, or at least drive it, that, my friend is on you. Did you get that statement in writing?
