What if a child was standing there waiting for traffic to pass? Was there grass? Did you damage an underground sprinkler system?
I don't know all the facts but your truck is not a cat. Don't let it rub against poles. -

And what if the Cow jumped over the Moon........... Anyone can always add hypotheticals and what add if's. And all the "Ifs and What about's are and should be dealt with differently. However none of that happened. I think he is dealing with the facts. May you should also.

Outside of that I don't know what could have been done or can do now. -
Rubbing a pole right next to the road at a narrow, sharp, 90 deg turn, with a 53' trailer, is very easy to do, no matter how long you have been driving, especially at night. I have see people hit things like poles that no one should hit, and I have seen places that was very hard not to rub something. It all depends on the place and circumstances.
If the area was wide open, and a driver was careless and could not grasp the concept of a trailer off tracking, then yes, they should go. It all depends on the circumstances. I know of no one that has not rubbed something at some time if they have done very much multi-stop or local work.smithd Thanks this. -
No matter what you state, we need to examine why 3 differnt motorist felt a need to call in and complain. It is possible that all 3 accounts may differ from yours but the fact remains that there was a action on your part that forced them to feel the need to call in. Why would 3 seperate drivers decide to take the trime and call the number on your trailer. Did all 3 have a personal vendetta against truckers. I have had 2 call ins on me in 2.5 years and I remember both incidents. Yeah I do disagree with both callers. In one instance a car merging onto the freeway in Memphis got very upset I didn't switch to the left lane to allow him to merge. I could have avoided that call had I just switched lanes or slowed down and allowed him to merge. I look back and realize I could have done something differnt. Even though I had the LEGAL right of way I could have behaved safer and yielded to the four wheeler. In your calls was there anything you could have done to have avoided those calls. I believe if your honest with yourself and put your ego aside you may understand what I am saying. This was Roehls thinking and then the pole was just the thing that made Roehl decide it was time to part ways. Are they really such a bad company because they value safety and rather right or wrong they felt you were not the safest option to be behind the wheel of thier trucks.

Its quite easy to have a string of bad luck in regard to call ins. There is a big number with words encouraging people to call in on the back of the truck. Most call ins in my opinion are unwarranted and simply subjective and circumstantial. People are all to happy to call and report a driver fully knowing that he may very well lose his job, not that some need to. Many people enjoy the fact that they can cause grief to someone anonomously with no repercussions to themselves. Then you have the dingbats and pinheads that work in the offices analyzing the information with their brains running on krispy kreme donuts they had for breakfast. Call ins are simply heresay. Good or bad. Of course the good ones don't hurt. Ive had good call ins and a bad one myself. When I had the bad one, my dispatcher "cross examined" me over the phone and tried to sound intelligent. Of course I disagreed with the negative call in and never compromised I was correct in my actions, which I had to translate to a 5 year old level so my dispatcher could understand, but he seemed more intent on lynching me. Nothing came of it. As far as rubbing a pole, why would anyone call dispatch and tell on themselves? No harm no foul, many places drivers are sent should not even be legal for tractor trailers. Ive rubbed a couple things, not other vehicles, and reporting it never even crossed my mind, why would it? Plenty of drivers on here have too and they know to keep their mouth shut. When pinheads in the office here anything regarding what is normally an insignificant incident, it is their opportunity to play God and drop the hammer. They often don't discern between what is major and what is minor as well, an incident is an incident, so drivers, cya and goal, and if you get a negative call in, don't admit guilt, tell the truth, it was the call in driver!
