I didn't know that it even went on CSA.

This happened to a coworker of mine. He was southbound on the I15 leaving Utah. Was some 1500 over Gross. Company refused to reimburse him, company policy refused to pay for CAT scales and instead relied on the "certified"scales at the shipper. Both he and I left the the company the same day and he was on the hook for the overweight ticket.

Mine went on csa. And it happened 2.5 years BEFORE csa even started.
So I only had it on record for 6 months. -

I'm guessing OW is much more rarer then all the other violations but if one writes up the inspection. They most certainly do.
I've had two go on csa.
The last one was my fault for not having the drop axle down. 43000 on drives.
No ticket. Only csa.
The first one was a ticket and csa. 1500 over on trailer. -

Go ahead and have a look if you don’t believe me. Show me anywhere on that list where an overweight violation affects a carrier’s CSA in any shape or form. Prove me wrong and I’ll mail you $100.
The only thing on that list related to weight will probably be exceeding tire limits and possibly axle limits (meaning the weight rating of your steer axle or similar).Accidental Trucker Thanks this. -
Woke up to a Schneider internal private message saying that "I have entered a strict weight enforcement area", and to please scale my truck as soon as possible. Of course I have to pay to scale, and I already made it through the scale that mattered. I wonder if they sent a nasty email to Schneider saying, hey we know your O/OP rolled through here heavy at 0400, pay us?
I didn't pay attention, because that was the last open scale between me and Chicago, where I unloaded. -

Back when I used to run Canada, the ON scale houses around the greater Toronto area used to leave their displays turned around when they were closed. They also gave you 1 chance to slide yourself legal before they ticketed you. The scalehouses in Qc, however, were never so accommodating. Once had to pull into a Quebec scalehouse during a HEAVY snowstorm. The guy gave me a red light before I got on the scale, and I had to wait while he took a pusher shovel to clear the scale before I could weigh!!!
wulfman75 Thanks this.
