    Lazy is right.
Same ones won’t try backing into a stall even if there’s 50 spots available. Even if they do manage to put it in a spot it’ll be nose first where they’ll have a heck of a time backing out..

I drive mostly nights so I’ve seen it all. Two am fuel and coffee stop and someone is making it difficult to get in and out.. I wait until I’m along side their sleeper and blast the horn. Maybe if enough people did the same it would make it very uncomfortable for them..Somewhat like teaching a dog to poop outside :)

And how is good trip planning 'lazy'?
I never felt like getting up at 0400 or 0500 and getting my work done before 1700 was lazy.
What I thought was lazy was coming into a truckstop at 1000 in the morning and see it 80% full.

Usually much less than that at non chain truckstops. And of course most give free shower if you buy fuel.

I never "made a spot" at a truck stop. The illegal spots alongbthe curb and elsewhere are the first spots to be filled, not empty until 430 am. Lazy people make lazy choices then blame everyone else for doing "what everyone else" is already doing.

I don't put too much thought into it tbh. Me: all that effort it's gonna take to back in between those trucks with that limited amount of space?
*makes a spot then pops brakes*
They say "lazy", I think "safety".

You gotta love us tho ;)

Unfortunately I’m pretty much a slave to TA/Petro. Mainly because I need to buy a large amount of fuel from them every month to maintain my rewards status. and of course because of my fuel account.
Free shower, coffee, reserved parking or a meal. The $0.04 cents per gallon really adds up also and it buys me everything I need for the truck basically.

Today I’m at a really nice Sheetz in Marengo, OH mainly because I showered last night and I’m good until tomorrow. This place is a real treat and a break from the chaos at the TA’s etc.

New place, huge parking spots, good food and coffee. Couldn’t ask for better.
I-71 Exit 140 north of Columbus if anyone runs through here check it out.

I enjoy the challenge of trip planning and figuring out where and when I’m going to park. This last week is a good example. I had a load from Dallas going to Phoenix and then Las Vegas. I left Dallas at 5:30 am on Monday, and got to the Texas/New Mexico state line 680 miles later by 5 pm, where I got a parking spot at Loves (with planned backup spots at both states welcome center rest areas).

Tuesday I drove to the destination in Surprise, Arizona (Phoenix suburb) where I was told I’d be able to park on-site. Nope! I had looked at the satellite view, though, and it looked like I could park next door, and that was the case.

Wednesday, I drove to the location in North Las Vegas, where I was able to park on the street at my destination (which I used Google Maps street view to confirm). As a backup, I had advice from several folks here after I posted a thread last week asking for help.

Just generally, I try to get an early start whenever possible, I always scout out rest areas, truck stops, and street parking near my destinations (if parking at the actual destination isn’t available). I’ve also embraced the new split sleeper rules and use them to my advantage whenever necessary.

It blows my mind that some drivers don’t even think about planning ahead, and just drive until they’re almost out of hours and then expect a parking spot to magically appear!

Sheetz has great food. I didn't know that Ohio had them.

This place looks brand new. The parking spots give you 3-4 feet on each side..perfect place for a first day driver to practice backing. Was right next to my delivery this morning so I figured I’d check it out. IMG_4945.jpeg IMG_4944.jpeg
