I don't know but they do. They claim the "bonuses" make up for the low percentage. I've hauled bulk off and on for probably 15-20 years of the 38 I was out there (liquid, dry bulk & end dump) 22-25% was typical starting rates. Not 9%

By the way. You make 3% raise a year up to 5 yrs . (18% top rate) there are small bonuses here and there but once you figure in taxes its next to nothing. And Saturdays are mandatory once a month for new hires and after a holiday. Be ready to pay 3/4 of your health benefits because they only pay 1/4 of it. Essentially it works out to about $12 hr. give or take

Not questioning you, I’ve never worked there, but there must be something missing. How can he advertise 65-73k yearly earnings, wouldn’t there be some sort of false advertising around that, surely guys aren’t making that off 9%, Ive trucked in Florida basically my entire career, and pull an end dump myself and know there’s no sand or hard rock running around here paying the truck enough where 9% is grossing the driver those kinds of numbers.

His fleet is the only "good" thing and even then it's just appearances. He only pays $60 a week toward medical benefits. Thats 1/3 of the cost. Can't even pay half. There's a whole list of things they do to screw the driver. For instance, if you get a paid holiday off (labor day, memorial day) working the following Saturday is mandatory. The office doesn't work Sat. just the drivers.
I know a few drivers past and present that are/were there. If you get into a minor incident the driver ends up paying for the damage. They do it indirectly by withholding your "bonuses" until the debt is paid. When you're hired you sign various forms (like any company) but all those policies are subject to change. They have these policy changes every couple months. And none of these policy changes benefit the driver in any way. Don't judge a company just by their equipment (unless the equipment is junk) even then I'd rather drive for a company that has older equipment that's well maintained and pay (by the hour among other things) than drive brand new equipment where you're treated like a robot and paid 1978 wages. But thats just me.

Have you to thought about Southern Haulers? They are owned by R&J out of OH now, but the have yards everywhere. Rusty he's in Calera, would love to have you. They have end dumps, flatbeds, bulk tankers so plenty of choices. They go everywhere and then when you get your own truck you can pull for them as a broker truck. Just a thought. I worked for them many years ago but still have a close relationship with them.

He constantly runs ads on Tampa Craigslist saying average was $70,000 a year. That's complete b.s. I know several drivers there and if a company driver is making $60,000 a year its because he's working in excess of 12 hours a day 6 days a week.
The top rate is 18%. Funny how every other bulk hauler I've ever seen offers 22-27% to start. Essentially Daniel mullins is another carrier who "acts" like they care. "We treat you like family" In my experience when they say that, run the other way. I've seen how some families treat each other.

Unless ALL his drivers (owner operators too) go into the office in mass and demand changes nothing will happen. Oh, and now he doesn't even tell drivers what they're making a percentage of. I don't know how or if that's legal but if there's no push back this is what you'll have.
