Parasitic draw test for batteries on the truck?

    Okay. I guess I can always use a more simple one anyway. I'll head to Harbor Freight tomorrow. I guess my test light won't do any good because it only gives me a voltage reading?

    Black lead in the Com socket, red lead in the A socket. Set dial to DC amps. Remove the negative cable as mentioned above and use the meter leads to "complete" the circuit. Make sure absolutely everything in the truck is turned off because the amp setting on the meters typically only have a 10 amp fuse.

    Don't neccessarily need a Fluke, a cheaper meter will work fine too for occassional use.

    The high end ones are close to a thousand now. A decent Fluke with less features is over $350.

    Yeah, the guy at the yard was using his test light to go over some things in my truck. I asked him how much he paid for it. He said it was $400! I nearly spit out the Kit Kat I was eating. My test light was only $15 on Amazon. LOL.
